On may 24 we decided to speed up the building process a bit and go on our first trip with Limão. At this point the bed still had to be installed and there were some cupboards needed extra layers of paint. These were both jobs for Julian as I was feeling under the weather and there was quite a bit of laundry and dishes to be done before we could leave.

At around 16.00h we decided we were going to make it and a campspot had to be reserved, since it was pentecost weekend and the first actual hot weekend of the year, this was not an easy task. However, after a couple of calls we managed to find a little farm that had some camper places available for the night. In a rush we finished the bed constructions and put in our matrasses. Without many expectations and an only half finished van we left for the drive to Zeeland.

After an approximatley 1,5 hour drive we arrived at Boerderblij Jostine, where we were welcomed by a cute dog, two cats and Jostine herself. With a beautiful view of the fields behind the farm we had dinner straight away, a highly culinary prepackaged salad, since we haven’t bought any gas yet. The view, the weather and our little friend, the cat, made for a perfect dinner.

After dinner we went for a quick walk through the fields to the sea where we enjoyed a beautiful sunset. After about 10 minutes of Harry Potter we fell asleep, to wake up at 06.00h to a beautiful view. The best part of the morning was opening the door at 6 and falling asleep again, practically outside. We enjoyed a quick cereal breakfast in the morning sun and left to find a place for coffee. Ended up at McDonald’s and opted for a second breakfast.

Now ready to start the day, we left for the beach in Groede where we enjoyed a beautiful sunny day. After toasting in the sun for a full day we decided to call it a day and go home. Dinner at Burger King since the stove wasn’t working yet and we dare say this was a very succesfull first trip in the van.
