Summary

A hidden treat in an area otherwise famous for sportclimbing. The boulders can be reached by parking at parkplatz Vilseralm. Then, get at least 1 crashpad and follow the signs for the Vilseralm (gravel road going up, headed west). After ~10 minutes, you will hit a sharp bend. After which the boulders can be seen on your right. There are three main boulders, each holding around 3 problems. Most were too hard for us, but the ones we did climb were a joy to figure out. There are no decisive grades and topos online, so enjoy creating your own routes. The rock is mainly limestone and is exclusively overhanging; most routes don’t top out. The best routes in the area are, in our humble opinion, the traversals, which offer highly varied grips. The forest itself is a perfectly lovely area, and the landing zones are very safe and flat.

  • Easy and simple approach,
  • Nice suprise in an area with little bouldering!
